Use these to help contest your parking tickets

Wednesday, September 19th, 2007

Hi there I found this website not long after receiving my first parking ticket just recently.  I was telling my friend over coffee all about it and he told me some things you can use to contest your ticket and hopefully get it revoked.  He said that they worked for him, so why not everyone.

Ok so look at the ticket you got.  Make sure it contains ALL of the following.

1. Has the name and registration or serial number of the parking inspector

2. Includes the parking inspector’s station code

3. Has the car’s registration and expiry day date noted correctly

4. Includes a short title and description of the offense

5. Includes an offense code that matches the description of the offense

6. Includes the exact position of the car in the street

7. Includes the make, model, color and type of vehicle

If your ticket doesn’t contain all of these things then you have the right to contest the ticket.

Also if any of these things have happened to the sign telling you about the parking restrictions (ie: hours you can park there or no parking or whatever) , again you can contest the ticket

1. The parking sign was covered by foliage

2. Did the parking meter include the cost per hour?

3. Was the parking sign illegible or facing the wrong way?

So there you have it folks, a few things that you can use in battling the system.  Good luck!

definately not worth the money

I parked up the other day in a 2 hour parking zone so I could go and do my shopping. I had only left the car for an hour and when I came back I found a ticket on my car! What’s the point in having signs that say one-thing and parking inspectors doing the complete opposite? I still had an hour to go before they could issue me a ticket but they just went ahead anyway and did it. After that I’ve given up on paying tickets because they just seem to be a fraudulent way the city councils can make even more money out of the general public. Aren’t the rates on our houses high enough already? The parking fine system is flawed and something needs to be done about fixing it right now. But why would they with the amount of revenue it’s bringing in.
